Anne Somerton
Anne returned to us in September 2008 as Deputy Supervisor, having worked in at the Pre-School some years previously. Anne lives in Helmdon and takes a special interest in the gardening area. Anne is qualified to Level 3 NVQ in Early Years and plans to commence Level 4 in 2012. Anne was appointed Supervisor in November 2011. |
Victoria Webster
Victoria originally started with us as a parent volunteer and joined the Team as Pre-School Assistant in May 2009. She has strong ties with the village and both her children have attended Acorns in recent years. Victoria commenced training for her Level 3 qualification in January 2011 and works four mornings per week. |
Kim Sadler
Kim joined us for the start of the Spring term of 2011 working on a Thursday morning whilst Victoria studies for her Level 3 qualification and also covering extra hours as necessary. Kim is herself studying for a Level 2 NVQ in Early Years. Kim is working Monday afternoon, all day Wednesday and Thursday morning in 2011-12. |
Sarah Carus-Moore
Sarah joined us in May 2011 as a Level 3 Practitioner. She works every Tuesday morning and all day Friday . Sarah has previously worked in other settings and at Helmdon Primary School. She hopes to commence Level 4 training soon. Sarah is our designated SENCO officer. |
Sally Brookhouse
Sally has been on our Bank Staff as a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner and will work full days on a Monday and Tuesday for the autumn term. Sally worked at Acorns some years ago in a supervisory role and more recently has been running her own business in Holistic Therapy. |
Sue Morgan
Sue joined us this September from Windmill Nursery. She is qualified to Level 3 in Early Years and will be working on a Monday morning, all day Wednesday and Thursday and Friday morning. |
Liz Hart
Liz is responsible for all administration and manages the register, waiting lists, Early Years funding and invoicing as well as our finances. She usually works 12 hours per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Liz also project managed our new building and has had two children attend Acorns in the past. |
Bank Staff
Sometimes we need additional staff to cover training and illness at short notice.

Kerri Seymour
Kerri is Supervisor at Croughton Pre-School and occasionally works with us on a Friday. She previously was a Pre-School Assistant at Acorns; as she manages another setting she offers us the chance to share good working practice and ideas. |
Julia Toman
Julia worked previously at Acorns two days per week but now prefers to work as a Bank Staff member. She is qualified to Level 3 equivalent. Julia will be working every Thursday morning in the autumn term of 2011. |
Volunteer HelpersWe are happy to welcome volunteer help either in the form of parents or others wanting to give some free time to working with children. Lorraine Martin specialises in developing emotional resilience in children and is often at the setting on Wednesday mornings. |
Mel Mumford – Student placement – Autumn 2011 Mel is studying at Cherwell College for an NVQ Level 3 qualification and is at Acorns on a Wednesday and Thursday this term. Mel and her younger sister both attended Acorns as children. |
