Outdoor Learning & Nature Sessions

At Helmdon Acorns Pre-School, our dedicated woodland area, located right next door to our wonderful garden, is where our weekly Nature Sessions take place. Guided by our experienced Early Years team, children lead their own discoveries through den building, sensory mud play, wildlife tracking, and nature crafts.

Designed to help children make sense of the natural world around them, these hands-on sessions encourage little ones to observe living things, notice the changing seasons, and manage small physical risks in a safe, supportive setting. We alternate our session days each half term so every child gets to participate, regardless of their attendance pattern. Through these outdoor adventures, children build self-confidence, strong teamwork skills, and a lasting love for the environment.
